Project Engineer
£45,000 per annum, depending on experience

EMBS Engineering is in partnership with a leading manufacturing business located in Derbyshire which is seeking a skilled Project Engineer on a permanent, full-time basis. Our client is a well-established company known for its exceptional manufacturing capabilities, serving top-tier clients in industries such as Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Defence, and Aerospace development.
Role Overview:
The Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing projects within our client's diverse portfolio. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. While basic CAD skills are desirable, they are not essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and creating manufacturing methods following initial estimates provided by Estimators and the commercial sales team
- Conducting in-depth analysis to determine cycle times, lead times, and required processes for efficient production
- Collaborating closely with internal departments, particularly programming/engineering, to assess feasibility and timelines
- Liaising with subcontractors to manage material lead times, costs, and any outsourced processes
- Inputting project details into the MRP system
Experience Required:
- Experience in a similar role within engineering or manufacturing sectors is essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, with experience in CAD being advantageous
- Knowledge of at least one of CNC machining processes and fabrication techniques is essential
- Previous exposure to Defence, Nuclear, Power, or Aerospace industries is preferred
- A proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Candidates who would be suitable for this role would be; Project Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Production Engineers, Estimators or roles similar who have held roles within machining or fabrication biased precision engineering environments.
