EMBS Engineering is working in partnership on an exclusive basis with an award-winning, market-leading Precision Engineering SME that specialises in the manufacture of complex machined, assembled, and fabricated components for high-profile, globally recognised organisations.

Supporting markets such as; Nuclear, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Defence to name just a few illustrates the level of quality and precision the company is acquired to adhere to.
On the back of a very successful 2023, they are now embarking on their next phase of growth and as such require a Senior Quality Engineer who is looking to grow and develop into a Quality Manager within the next 12-24 months.

This is a truly exciting opportunity for someone to join a stable business that possesses over 40 years of engineering heritage and is going from strength to strength, operating now out of multiple sites within North Nottinghamshire.

The main purpose of this role is to support the business, from a quality perspective, ensuring the customer receives successful delivery of new and/or existing products, manufactured to the highest standard, arriving on time and to specifications / industry standards.
The successful applicant will be tasked to identify improvements to aid the development of achieving RFT, whilst also improving and maintaining quality procedures and plans to ensure they yield the highest production results.
You will also identify quality non-compliance at its infancy within the production process (machining, fabrication, assembly) working closely with internal departments to identify the root cause, resolve issues and provide solutions to avoid future occurence.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Support the Head of Quality in managing daily QA/QC activities
  • Support process validation qualification activity and production part approval process documentation
  • Establish and embed procedures for Real Time Problem Resolution on the shop floor
  • Engage with production management & operatives to reduce rework and scrap
  • Participate in continuous improvement activity 
  • Support internal, 3rd party and customer system and/or process audits
  • Support internal meetings for proper disposition and control of non-conforming materials
  • Support internal meetings for proper change control process
  • Support data collection and reporting quality performance for management and customer reviews
  • Undertake assignments as directed by the management
  • Adhere to health and safety responsibilities at all times
  • Comply with policies and procedures
KPI's working to:
  • Cost of non-quality (COPQ)
  • Product RFT
  • Delivered RFT
  • Launch OTIF
  • NCR closeout rate
  • Ensure QE team completes audits within timescales
  • Take the lead – drive internal NCs ensuring that RCC & PA are being addressed with action owners
  • Monitor & Govern
  • Ensure QE team adheres to JD and P1 & 2 tasks are complete

Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:
  • Strong Quality Engineering or Quality Management experience within a precision engineering environment that manufactures complex machined components for highly regulated industries - Aerospace, Motorsport/F1, Defence, Nuclear, Power, Oil & Gas, Medical
  • Sound technical Quality knowledge
  • Good understanding of core quality techniques - PFMEA, MSA, RCA, 8D, 5Y, APQP, etc.
  • Adopt a "boots on the ground, shopfloor based" mentality
  • Ability to provide examples of improvements implemented which has yielded positive results / outcomes
  • Confident improving / maintaining Quality / Business Management Systems
