Technical Engineering Estimator wanted! Permanent, Coventry based 

 

EMBS are working in partnership with a well established, growing precision engineering company that specialise in manufacturing medium sized, complex components for a number of industries, including aerospace.

Located on the outskirts of Coventry, this company boasts a strong reputation with their chosen markets on being able to deliver high quality, complex components to a number of lucrative customers across the globe.

Our client is looking to recruit an Engineering Estimator / Planning Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis to help and support the engineering department due to continued growth of both new and existing clients.

The main purpose of this role is to provide technical estimations and quotations for OEM customers.

The successful applicant will therefore be working with the part from receipt of the initial stage drawings and will need to understand how it is made and what processes are needed in order to create the part to correct specification.

The business has very strong fabrication / welding capabilities therefore it is essential for the successful candidate to have experience in these areas.

 

Responsibilities include:

>Working with customers and suppliers to provide quotations for work

>Monitoring and reporting on quotation activities including commercial KPI's

>Preparing cost budgets and cost estimates for existing and new customers

>Preparing proposals and tenders tailored to client needs

>Balance multiple proposals and estimations before designated deadlines

>Preparing and delivering job cards for manufacturing and purchasing of key equipment and materials

>Assist in the development of manufacturing processes and procedures during new product introduction programmes to achieve cost, delivery and quality specification targets

>Analyse Overall Equipment Efficiency reports and facilitate improved availability and utilisation

>Provide technical support for subcontractors and suppliers

 

Successful candidates MUST be able to demonstrate:

>Strong precision engineering background within a manufacturing engineering business which ideally produces parts for the Aerospace industry. Other precision engineering sectors will be considered

>Vast experience within Fabrication & Welding

>Strong estimating and planning experience within a critical manufacturing sector

>Strong understanding and experience of quoting for sheet metal, jigs and fixtures 

>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

>Ability to understand and demonstrate a product life cycle within a manufacturing environment

>Ability to work in a fast paced organisation

>Strong communication skills
