Material Planning & Logistic Coordinator position available - 12 months FTC


EMBS Engineering is partnered with one of our prestigious, longstanding clients supporting them with their search for a Material Planning & Logistic Coordinator, working on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity.

This client boasts a strong reputation of manufacturing high quality components through advanced machining capabilities and supports some of the largest OEM's and their supply chain, across the globe.

Located near Lichfield / Tamworth, our client is highly accessible to both East & West Midland based applicants.


The purpose of this role is to to provide support to machine shop and MP&L Manager and related areas of the organisation to achieve delivery targets sales targets and manage multiple projects and schedules to give OTIF delivery to the customer.


Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate all aspects of production schedule to enable manufacturing to achieve production targets liaising with in house transport for delivery and collection of sub contract operations.
  • Working with the production schedule coordinates production workflow through each area to gain best advantage of customer delivery and revenue return.
  • Communicate potential issues before they arise and inform management. 
  • Produce paperwork to allow the production of parts and ensure drawings etc are supplied to machine shop. This includes parts being returned from sub contract for more operations. 
  • Monitor the business system data and identify issues requiring attention such as late slow moving or errors.
  • Support machine shop in achieving ROTIF and OTIF KPI’s.
  • Support stock taking activities with count sheets and data entry.
  • Comply with business policies and procedures.
  • Cooperate with all other areas as when required.
  • Control Waste stream management organising collections and deliveries and subsequent paperwork to ensure adherence to environmental requirements.


Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous Production Planning/ Material Planning experience
  • Held a similar role within an automotive / motorsport business previously
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, challenging environment
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritise urgent planning issues
  • Computer literate
  • Confident communicator - ability to liaise with customers and suppliers of all levels
  • Tenacity and desire to succeed and drive best practice
  • Methodical and practical worker


In return the client is offering:

  • 12 month fixed term contract
  • Salary: Depending on experience
  • Hours: 39 per week, 8am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 1pm finish on Fridays
