FOUNDRY OPERATIVE WANTED - Northampton, Permanent 

 

EMBS Engineering are currently in partnership with a well established, leading precision engineering company that specialises in foundry castings and moulds.

With modern state of the art equipment and technology they can molten metal in weights from 1kg to 2.5 tonnes in all grades of Cast Iron amongst other materials. The company has the capability to produce simple castings right through to complex core assemblies.

Due to increased orders and recent project wins, our client is looking to recruit a Foundry Operative to join their experienced team on a permanent basis. 

 

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Produce moulds and cores using boxed and boxless moulding techniques
  • Operate sand mixing machinery and understand principles of chemical technology
  • Understand the principles of running and feeding systems and apply this to the moulding process to ensure sound castings
  • Form part of the casting team and assist with the movement of molten metal and the casting of moulds and understand the basic principles of metallurgy

 

Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience working within a heavy industrial environment
  • Foundry background would be ideal
  • Knowledge of working with Airset sands, GI and SG Iron
  • Ability to operate all relevant measuring equipment
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings relevant to the process
  • Strong manual dexterity 
  • Ability to work well within a team

 

In return the client is offering:

  • Longevity / stability - permanent position
  • Shifts: Days (37.5 basic hour week)
  • Salary: £20,000 - £24,000 p.a depending on experience
