Calibration Engineer - Permanent, Nottingham

 

EMBS are in partnership with a leading precision engineering company that specialises in the manufacture of complex precision components for a number of lucrative industries including aerospace.

Located in Nottingham, my client is looking to attract a skilled Calibration Engineer to join their quality team on a permanent basis.

 

The role will be reporting to the Quality Cell Supervisor and responsibilities will include:

  • Optimisation of calibration intervals and methods
  • Maintenance of the calibration trackers and database and weekly communications to recall items for calibration
  • In-house calibration traceable to known standards for all UK sites
  • Selection, ordering, checking and release of new measurement equipment
  • Organising sub-contract services for calibration services where required either externally or for internal requirements
  • Review and validation of calibration certificates
  • Reporting on metrics used to manage and track the status of calibration activities
  • Support the business in ensuring the means of calibration provide the best value for money and service

You will also be involved in Training people to correctly use manual measuring equipment, helping others learn about performing calibration activities and assisting with system measurement accuracy and other projects, development of procedures and processes.

 

Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:

  • Holding previous roles as a Calibration Engineer
  • Hands on experience of calibrating equipment
  • Previously worked in a precision engineering / manufacturing environment
  • In depth understanding of calibration standards
  • Experience in calibrating measuring equipment including hand held devices, thread gauges, pyrometry and electrical equipment 
  • Ability to offer solutions to enhance business practices
  • Strong communicator and the ability to work with personnel of all levels
  • Knowledge of Pyrometry and AMS2750 would be an advantage but is not essential
