Assistant Production Manager / Manufacturing Team Leader required - Nottinghamshire, Permanent


EMBS are currently in the market for an Assistant Production Manager / Manufacturing Team Leader who will be supporting in the running of the entire manufacturing departments.

My client is a reputable, industry leading, precision engineering company that manufactures safety critical, sub assembly components for a number of high profile OEM's around the world. Located in Nottinghamshire and operating in various industry markets, they are fortunate enough to be in a position of strength and are extremely busy with new and existing orders. Therefore, as part of a new alignment internally, the business requires additional support overseeing the production / manufacturing departments to allow smooth running of the business and also alleviate duties from other individuals internally.

With this role, your primary focus will be to oversee all shopfloor departments and ensure parts are manufactured in a safe and efficient manner, whilst monitoring OEE and ensuring OTIF between sections and COPQ is maintained.


Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong precision engineering background - working in manufacturing businesses which supply small to medium sized components into the precision engineering markets - aerospace, motorsport, nuclear, oil & gas, MOD, pharmaceutical etc.
  • Sound understanding of machining - CNC & Conventional Milling, Turning, Grinding and ideally Mill Turn machines
  • Worked to KPI's and metrics - adhered to specific targets regarding output, delivery %, quality etc.
  • Ability to be able to lead and motivate others - previous management/supervisory experience is essential
  • Involved in busy, high paced, demanding environments
